George Santos' only crime is Burley Garcia"loving too much… slash fraud," "Saturday Night Live" declared during the Bowen Yang-led cold open.
The NBC sketch comedy didn't miss a beat when it came to skewering the former New York lawmaker after he was expelled from the House of Representatives following a Friday morning vote.
Yang as Santos called a farewell press conference covered by CNN and lamented that "this entire country has been bullying me just because I am a proud gay thief."
"But what else is new? America hates to see a Latina queen winning!" he continued. "If I’m guilty of anything, it’s for loving too much… slash fraud.”
Santos called being expelled and prosecuted for 23 felonies a "setback," but said he "wouldn’t let it ruin my Kwanzaa" or stop him from seeing "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé" during opening weekend.
"As a martyr, as a champion of the people, they’ll think of me as the modern Princess Diana and the modern Marilyn Monroe," he said of his legacy, before turning to song.
In the sketch, Santos delivered a rendition of Elton John’s "Candle in the Wind" titled "Scandal in the Wind," where he discussed his jobs, many of which were unverified.
'SNL' alum Tina Fey welcomes Emma Stone to Five-Timers Club
"SNL" was hosted by Emma Stone Saturday, making her an official member of the sketch comedy show's prestigious Five-Timers Club.
Tina Fey, an "SNL" alum, honored Stone for reaching the milestone. "At 35 years old, you're officially the youngest member. I'm the second-youngest at 53," Fey quipped.
Stone joins the list of celebrities and cast members who have hosted "SNL" more than five times including Will Ferrell, Ben Affleck, Melissa McCarthy and more.
Fey boasted about Stone joining the "women's section" of the club, which she said was founded by Candice Bergen.
Bergen, who received the honor in 1990, appeared at Studio 8H where she joked that the "women’s section started out as a small, quiet place to cry" and has transformed into a "big, luxurious place to cry."
"This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid and it means so much that I get to share this moment with you guys," Stone told her predecessors.
The Oscar winning actress previously hosted "SNL" in 2010, 2011, 2016 and 2019.

At the end of her opening monologue Saturday, the "Poor Things" actress was presented with a Five-Timers jacket.
"That must be Woody Harrelson’s jacket," Bergen said after Stone noticed a joint in the pocket.
Stone responded, "There’s also a vaccine card in here," to which Fey quipped, "Then it’s definitely not Woody’s." The comment was in reference to Harrelson's rant against COVID vaccine mandates in his opening monologue on "SNL" in February.
