Tituss Burgess does it all – he’s acted in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, he sang in Schmigadoon! and now he’s hosting the new Food Network reality show Last Bite Hotel, Tuesdays at 9 ET/PT. So, of course, we had to ask him about his own kitchen and what he keeps stocked in his pantry.
In an E! Exclusive interview, Burgess shares cooking tips he picked up from his father, “I thought he was a genius,” plus the kitchen accessory that makes him feel closer to his grandmother. Burgess swears by his Ninja blender. “I start every morning with a shake. And there’s something satisfying about pulverizing fruit. It tastes amazing and I get my health up!”
“It’s what I saw my grandmother use when I was a child. She did everything with it. Cooking with it makes me feel closer to her.”
“I do everything with the sauce: I make dressing, I make marinades, I use it for the base of soups. I do everything short of showering with it!”
“My Dad would make Italian dressing with these packets and use it to marinate chicken. The next day we would grill the chicken together. I thought he was a genius.”
“Duh.”
“I make popsicles with it. When I’m tired of drinking water, I throw in a packet. It makes me feel like I'm cheating.”
“Ever since I was in grade school, my Mom would put cottage cheese on my salads and now I cannot have a salad without cottage cheese. Don’t even put it in front of me if there is no cottage cheese.”
